WAGGGS

I have been working with WAGGGS since 2020. This pack is an example of the many popular education texts I have been able to translate for the organisation in recent years. Notre monde, notre futur prospère is an activity pack created for the 2024 International Thinking Day. Each year, WAGGGS creates an pack to raise awareness on a specific topic.

I translate for this girls’ rights organisation in inclusive language with a midpoint in most contexts. However, as some of the texts are intended for use in face-to-face meetings, the language needs to be adapted where oral communication is required.

For example, in the case of a meditation intended to be read by a leader, it is important to switch to inclusive language based on epicene formulations and not on the midpoint so that the text is pronounceable.
