Le rêve de Dali

The graphic novel Le rêve de Dali is a translation from Spanish into French published by 21g in 2020.

It retraces the painter’s life, taking as its starting point the end of his life in a hospital bed.

The style of the text is dreamlike, with a lot of metaphors and references to the Surrealist movement. It also contains numerous quotations and mentions ancient myths, as well as specific points from Salvador Dali’s biography and that of those close to him.

The challenge of this text was to remain faithful to the painter’s frivolous but formal style, while paying tribute to his multicultural and eccentric life.
