Le deuxième texte

This collection of short stories presents retellings of stories from the point of view of the main female characters. The story I wrote was based on the story of Lilith, Adam’s first wife, which is mentioned in the Kabbalah. Lilith is said to have been created at the same time as Adam from the earth. She was supposed to be his partner but refused to submit to him, which is why he abandoned her. Eve was then created from his rib and became his wife.

This text uses structures found in Christian and Jewish religious texts and the lexical field of religion to denounce patriarchy and the traditional idea that women must submit to their husbands.
